Kilmarnock

The club is presently under the management of Derek McInnes, who took over in January 2022. Since its establishment in 1869, Kilmarnock FC has earned various accolades, including the 2011–12 Scottish League Cup triumph over Celtic at Hampden Park and the 2022 Scottish Championship title. The team's moniker, Killie, reflects the town's name in Scottish terminology. Having participated in European tournaments nine times, Kilmarnock's most notable campaign was in the 1966–67 Fairs Cup, reaching the semi-finals before being ousted by Leeds United. The club is among the few Scottish teams to have appeared in three different European competitions. Furthermore, Kilmarnock has competed in the International Soccer League in 1960, 1961, 1963, and 1965, as well as in the 1995 Korea Cup. Kilmarnock Football Club is currently the oldest team in the Scottish Premiership and the second-oldest professional club in Scotland. Home games are held at Rugby Park, a 15,003-seater stadium within the town. The club's inaugural match in the Scottish Cup occurred against Renton in 1873. A longstanding rivalry exists between Kilmarnock and Ayr United, with both teams engaging in the Ayrshire derby since their first encounter in September 1910.
