Ribeira Grande, November 18th (Inforpress) – The teams of Rosariense and Santo Crucifixo won today’s matches of the opening tournament against Solpontense and Foguetões.

In the first classic of the northern zone, Rosariense’s team defeated Solpontense with a score of 2-0.

The goals from the alvinegros were scored in the second half of the match by Dany and Rodrigo, determining the final result of the game as 2-0.

In the second match, Santo Crucifixo’s team started the football season in the northern zone by defeating Foguetões with a score of 2-0. Ronaldo opened the scoring in the first half, and Ady Melo sealed the result of the match also in the first half, 2-0.

Paulense’s team was absent in this round.

In the standings, Rosariense leads with 6 points, followed by Sopontense and Santo Crucifixo with three points each. Paulense and Foguetões have not scored yet.

The Opening Tournament will be played in five rounds in a one-way system ‘everyone against everyone’.

After the Opening Tournament, the Supertaça Nené will be played on December 9th, followed by the Taça Região Norte, also in the ‘everyone against everyone’ format.

The regional championship is scheduled to start on January 6th, 2024, and will feature the participation of five teams – Rosariense, Santo Crucifixo, Foguetões, Solpontense, and Paulense – who will compete in the competition for 10 rounds, that is, everyone against everyone in two rounds.

The teams of Beira Mar and Torreense have decided to suspend their participation in official competitions this season.
